An endoparasite that forms galls/swellings on roots, reducing water and nutrient uptake.

Identification

Lab diagnosis. Roots show small galls or swellings; aboveground irregular yellowing, stunting, and thinning that mimics nutrient deficiency.

Poor response to fertilization

Favorable Conditions

Warm sandy soils; susceptible host turf.
