An endoparasite whose females swell into hardy cysts on roots; persistent and difficult to control without destroying the turf.
Identification
Lab diagnosis. Lemon-shaped females (cysts) form on roots; aboveground stunting, chlorosis, and reduced vigor. Cysts are highly persistent in soil.

Favorable Conditions
Warm soils; cysts survive long without hosts.
Cultural Management
Maintain root health; assay to confirm (control is difficult)
