Inhibits sterol 14α-demethylase (lanosterol demethylase, CYP51), blocking ergosterol biosynthesis. Tebuconazole has strong affinity for the CYP51 enzyme in a broad range of fungal species and is particularly effective against Basidiomycetes causing fairy ring and rust.
