Mode of Action

IRAC3A

Sodium Channel Modulator

Lambda-cyhalothrin is a Type II pyrethroid that binds to voltage-gated sodium channels, slowing their closing and causing prolonged nerve depolarization. Unlike Type I pyrethroids, Type II compounds also block GABA-gated chloride channels at higher concentrations. The combined effects produce the T-syndrome (tremors, salivation, convulsions) in susceptible insects.

Resistance Management

Medium resistance risk. Lambda-cyhalothrin shares cross-resistance with other pyrethroids. Rotate with non-pyrethroid products. Populations with kdr mutations showing pyrethroid resistance have been documented in armyworms and other lepidopteran pests.
