CAUTION
PPO Inhibitor
Sulfentrazone inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO/Protox), an enzyme in the chlorophyll and heme biosynthesis pathway. Inhibition causes accumulation of protoporphyrin IX, which in the presence of light and oxygen generates reactive oxygen species that destroy cell membranes, causing rapid bleaching and tissue death.

Low resistance risk. No confirmed PPO-inhibitor resistant sedge populations in turfgrass. Resistance is theoretically possible — rotate with HRAC Group 2 herbicides (e.g., sulfosulfuron) for nutsedge programs.
