Mode of Action

FRAC2

Dicarboximide

Iprodione inhibits osmotic stress signal transduction by interfering with the fungal HOG1 (High-Osmolarity Glycerol) MAP kinase signaling cascade. This pathway is essential for the pathogen to sense and respond to environmental stress during infection. Disruption prevents normal cellular adaptation, halting spore germination and mycelial growth. Contact activity predominates; limited systemic movement in plant tissue.

Resistance Management

Medium resistance risk. Resistance in dollar spot (Clarireedia jacksonii) has been documented and is associated with mutations in osmosensing genes of the HOG1 signal transduction pathway. Monitor efficacy season to season and rotate with fungicides from non-dicarboximide FRAC groups (e.g., FRAC 3, 7, 11, or M5) to slow resistance development.
