Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Competitive Modulator
Clothianidin selectively binds to insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, acting as a persistent agonist and preventing normal neurotransmission. Its nitroguanidine substituent provides high binding affinity and slower metabolic breakdown than earlier neonicotinoids, contributing to extended residual soil activity and superior grub control.

Resistance Management
Medium resistance risk. Rotate with non-neonicotinoid chemistries annually. Populations of some stored-grain pests and whiteflies have shown clothianidin resistance — monitor turfgrass pest efficacy year over year.
